How it works
- α = coefficient of thermal expansion (1/°C)
- D₀ = original bore diameter (mm)
- ΔT = Trequired − Tambient
- ΔD = α × D₀ × ΔT = bore expansion
- Required expansion = interference + assembly clearance
- T = Tambient + (interference + clearance) / (α × D₀)
